Position Overview:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. The Process Engineer will be responsible for optimising and improving our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Process Engineer will play a key role in identifying process improvement opportunities, implementing changes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Optimisation:
- Analyse existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Conduct time and motion studies, process flow analysis, and value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including the design and implementation of new systems, equipment, or procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to implement process changes and ensure smooth operations.
Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring:
- Collect and analyse process data to identify trends, monitor performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track process performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve process issues and non-conformities.
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) methodologies to monitor and control process variability.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Facilitate Kaizen events and other problem-solving activities to identify and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to process engineering and continuous improvement methodologies.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain accurate and comprehensive process documentation, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate process performance, improvement initiatives, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to process engineering and manufacturing.
Person Specification:
Qualifications, Experience & Attitude:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
- Proven experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of process optimisation methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Proficient in process mapping, data analysis, and statistical process control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex process issues.
- Familiarity with process simulation and modelling software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and Lean Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
