Sales Director
Department: Commercial Vehicle Division
Overview:
JANS Group is looking for a highly experienced and strategic Sales Director to take full responsibility for the sales operations of the Commercial Vehicle Division within the JANS Group. This Division is comprised of two critical business units with the JANS Group: Composite Parts Manufacturing and ETRUX, a leader in commercial electric vehicle conversions. Reporting directly to the Head of the Division, this senior leadership role requires a dynamic and visionary sales leader with a proven track record in a similar industry, or supplier to the sectors we serve. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the growth and profitability of the Commercial Vehicle Division by leading a team of field-based sales executives, securing high-value deals, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute a robust sales strategy for the Composite parts manufacturing and ETRUX business units, ensuring alignment with the overall vision and growth objectives of the JANS Group.
- Identify and capitalise on long-term profitable market opportunities, leveraging industry insights to position JANS Group as a leader in the commercial vehicle sector.
- Report directly to the CEO, contributing to strategic decision-making and providing regular updates on sales performance, market trends, and growth opportunities.
Team Management & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of field-based sales executives, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving and exceeding commercial targets.
- Set clear sales objectives, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement strategies to ensure the team’s success.
- Promote professional development within the team, ensuring that sales executives have the skills and support needed to excel in their roles.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Utilise your established network within the industry to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop and present tailored, customer-centric solutions that address the specific needs of each client, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Personally manage relationships with high-value clients, negotiating and closing complex, high-stakes deals that contribute significantly to the division’s growth.
Business Development & Market Expansion:
- Conduct thorough market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the commercial vehicle sector.
- Collaborate with business development, marketing, and product development teams to drive innovation and expand the company’s market footprint.
- Explore new market segments and channels to diversify revenue streams and increase market share for both business units.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Take full responsibility for the sales budget, including forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.
- Develop pricing strategies and manage costs to maximise profitability while maintaining competitiveness in the market.
- Prepare and present detailed sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of sales experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role within cutting edge industry, such as I.T., renewable energy, technology, manufacturing, and electric vehicles.
- Proven track record of successfully operating at Board level or reporting directly to the CEO or executive leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead sales teams to achieve significant revenue growth and market share expansion.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex market dynamics into actionable sales strategies.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing sales teams.
- Outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to close high-value deals and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and delivering on financial targets.
- Deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape in the sectors we serve.
