Donation to The Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary
Lately at The JANS Group, we’ve been focusing on transforming our approach to waste management by reframing how we perceive waste. Instead of seeing it as something to discard, we are viewing ‘waste’ as a resource with potential value. This mindset shift drives innovation across our divisions, whether it’s finding new ways to reuse materials in manufacturing, identifying opportunities for recycling within our operations, or creating sustainable solutions for products at the end of their lifecycle.
In other words, we believe that one person’s waste can become another’s treasure. This philosophy came to life recently when we found ourselves with a collection of duvets, pillows, and towels. These items had been in storage for quite some time, and after a recent clear out, the pieces could have been simply disposed of. It seemed like the easiest option, but not the right one.
Rather than simply discard them, various members of our team came together and saw an opportunity to make a positive impact. After some brainstorming and outreach, we found the perfect home for these gently used items: our neighbours, The Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary.
It was a small but significant gesture that aligned perfectly with our ethos of sustainability. By diverting these items from waste, we were able to support the sanctuary’s ongoing efforts to care for animals in need. The duvets will now keep their rescue dogs warm during cold nights, while the pillows will provide softness and comfort for the rescue cats.
This act of giving not only benefits the sanctuary but reinforces our belief that what might seem like waste can often serve a valuable purpose elsewhere. Small actions like this strengthen our commitment to the community and encourage us to seek out even more ways to contribute positively to others and the environment.
